2GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB: choosing a head-unit configuration

Understand what RAM, storage and processor options change, and choose a configuration that matches how the screen will be used.

Memory and storage labels make configurations easier to compare, but they should not be treated as the only measure of performance. Processor generation, software optimisation, screen resolution and the apps you run also matter.

2GB RAM + 32GB storage

This is usually the entry option for customers focused on CarPlay or Android Auto, Bluetooth, radio and basic reversing-camera use. It leaves less room for heavy multitasking or a large library of installed apps.

4GB RAM + 64GB storage

This is the balanced option for regular use. It provides more space for navigation data and apps, with better room for switching between functions.

6GB RAM + 128GB storage

This configuration suits customers who expect to install more apps, keep offline media or navigation data and use the Android side of the unit more heavily.

Choose by use, not only by the largest number

  • Mainly phone projection: the entry or middle option may be sufficient.
  • Frequent native apps and multitasking: consider the middle or higher option.
  • Long-term storage needs: allow room for maps, updates and media.
Important

Specifications and available options vary by product. Use the configuration choices on the exact product page as the source of truth.
